The Lodge is a 3000 square foot cottage with four bedrooms, beds for twelve people, overflow cots, a kitchen, indoor and outdoor washrooms, and a large Great Room overlooking the bay. It is spacious and comfortable with a rustic backwoods feel and decor.
Guests are asked to bring their own bedding; extra pillows and sheets are available.
Biodegradable shampoo and dish soap is provided. If guests prefer to supply their own soaps, these must be biodegradable.
Kitchen amenities include a stove, fridge, lots of cupboard space, dishes, cutlery, cookware, and basic spices and condiments. There are two gas-fired barbeques and a fire pit outdoors.
An off-grid property, the retreat runs on a generator, propane, and solar power. A basic amount of gas is provided to guests for running the generator. Extra gas for high energy usage can be purchased.
The grounds are variously rocky, grassy, sandy, and wooded. A new 20-foot dock provides good mooring and fishing opportunities. The small, naturally-sandy beach is a good spot for wading and swimming and for launching the three canoes. There are paddles, life jackets, and some inflatable swimming toys at the lodge. There are lawn chairs and outdoor furniture.
